Block Buster vs. Red Box vs. Netflix

When VHS and DVD's were emerging in the market, Block Buster was the place to go. With the invention of Red Box and the technological streaming of Netflix, Block Buster is slowly failing. Our society has become dependent on technology and immediate convenience that people do not take the time to walk through Block Buster anymore. Who needs to walk through Block Buster anymore when I can easily stream a movie from Netflix? I can admit that I am adiment user of Netflix and when new movies come out that are not streaming on Netflix, I go to the nearest Red Box in my area. Fast and convient. That is what our society has progressed into. Just like we like our food fast, we like everything else in our world to be the same way.

I currently do not have cable so Netflix is all the television I need and more. Other sources of television and movie streaming like Hulu are also big in my life. I like streaming movies and television because for 1 it is way cheaper to subscribe to Netflix and Hulu monthly than paying for a cable bill every month. Reason number 2, I can watch when ever and what ever on multiple devices and on the go. I am almost never at home, so having Netflix and Hulu is convient. My final reason is because I do not have to worry about returning movies or losing them. I have Netflix and Hulu streaming on my phone, smart tv and on my iPad so I do not have to worry about one disc. In our generation having Netflx or some sort of internet movie/ television streaming source is a must. It is the way of our world now and just as we moved from VHS to DVD's, I believe streaming will be next for everyone.

  2. I know exactly how you feel with Netflix and hulu at the tip of the fingers. I live in a sorority house so trying to watch what you want on T.V. is a little hard since there are 60 of us in the house. I like being able to just grab my phone, iPod or computer and be able to watch whatever. All of my friends who own DVD's did not pay full price for them because it is simply too expensive. Everyone now days gets movies cheap online or from the $5 movie bin at Walmart.
